Incinerator     Light Box     25 x 33 x 6.5 cm     2017

Based on my watercolour depicting crematory incinerators in a concentration camp in Germany, I attempted to appropriate the semiotic characteristics of religious stained glass to the image as a meaningful discourse, revealing a shift of belief in the postmodern context. My work integrates contradiction by juxtaposing gloom with the colourful, facts with doubts, and reality with fancy. Every gruesomeness seems illusory when I look at the issue of darkness again.
