SILENT VIOLENCE

Silent violence is a series of paintings that illustrate violent conflict scenes in Hong Kong anti-extradition bill protests. rough a painterly approach, I intentionally depersonalise all the figures. I want to reexamine the role of images in the context of a highly divided society. The works reveal my understanding of post-truth politics and a dictatorship of the mass media. I am interested in how the sense of violence is transmitted differently through the lens and paintings. Where is the darkness from?
